Vase is a small tempera painting, just 4 by 4 inches, matted to 5 by 5. It’s an abstract exploration of a vase filled with swirling patterns that move through bright oranges, yellows, and deep blues. The colors blend and shift in a way that feels almost molten, with edges that are slightly irregular to keep the form organic and alive. The piece is framed simply in black with a white mat to bring the colors forward without distraction. With this work, I wanted to capture a sense of energy and flow within a familiar shape, inviting a closer look at the movement inside the form rather than the form itself.
