Morning Veil is a small watercolor study measuring 2 by 3 inches, matted to 3 by 4. In this piece, I used soft, fluid brushstrokes to explore an abstract landscape where muted earth tones—greens, yellows, blues, and browns—blend seamlessly. The colors move gently across the paper, suggesting the quiet transitions of foliage, water, and sky at sunrise. Living upcountry and witnessing those early light moments inspired the calm and flow in this work. Framing it simply with a black frame and white mat keeps the focus on the subtle shifts of color and the impressionistic sense of place.
